Definition Thursday #12

quote........[kwoht]

to repeat (a passage, phrase, etc.) from a book, speech, or the like, as by way of authority, illustration, etc.
Well who doesn't love a good quote?? I found some "art quotes"! I knew there were tons of quotes out
there, but to have them for art is so very cool!  Hope you enjoy!!

Let each man exercise the art he knows.
Aristophanes, Wasps, 422 B.C.
The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.
Aristotle
Art does not exist only to entertain, but also to challenge one to think, to provoke, even to disturb, in a constant search for truth.
Barbra Streisand
You have got to discover you, what you do, and trust it.
Barbra Streisand
So you see, imagination needs moodling - long, inefficient, happy idling, dawdling and puttering.
Brenda Ueland
Works of art, in my opinion, are the only objects in the material universe to possess internal order, and that is why, though I don't believe that only art matters, I do believe in Art for Art's sake.
E. M. Forster
Without art the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.
George Bernard Shaw

Have a wonderful weekend my friends!
